musical style & influences.
Grandy's music blends jazz, R&B, and pop, featuring nice harmonies and arrangements that incorporate brass instruments and multi-part harmonies. Laura has been immersed in music from an early age, particularly classical, disco and Brazilian music. For her, it was London that influenced her most in terms of RnB, and Scandinavia in terms of jazz.
album highlights.
“Rather Be Crazy” was her first single. "It’s an homage to myself and all the artists out there fighting for their dreams. Navigating the music industry without losing your mind or giving up is incredibly tough." - Laura GRANDY
“Waste & Find”, her second single, emerged from an emotional piano session, where she played for a long time, inspiring lyrics and melodies that led to a vocal arrangement, sitting in an almost empty apartment. The song blends themes of nostalgia, anger, loss and growth.
Th song "I Feel" transitions from a delicate piano-voice duo to a passionate tenor saxophone solo backed by drums, double bass, piano, baritone saxophone, and trumpet. While "Words" features pop elements with backing vocals reminiscent of The Beatles. "Quiet Times" closes the album with a minimalist arrangement of flute, classical guitar, and voice, evoking Nordic landscapes.
